Season Over: Maple Sugaring Tours 2022

Updated: Monday March, 14th
A huge thank you to the folks that were able to join us for small group tours this sugaring season. With the rise in temperatures as we get closer to spring our season has come to an end.

——————————————————————-

For the second year Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center will be hosting small group maple sugaring tours.

These tours, which will be approximately two hours in length, have a capacity of 10 participants and will cost $60 per group. Due to the nature of maple season we will begin booking as the season kicks off this may be in late winter 2022. The season ‘begins’ generally after a hard freeze when temperatures fluctuate below and above freezing. Tentatively this may be at the start of February.

Learn about maple sugaring from tree sap out the tap, to syrup on your pancakes. Come see our boiling process, and taste our syrup, and more! Masks are optional.

More information will be released on our website and Facebook page as maple season approaches. Tours will most likely occur Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Tours involve walking on uneven ground, and will be outdoors. We ask that you dress for the weather.

Tours will be led by Miranda Land & Dustin McQuade, Staff and Shepherd’s Corner volunteers.

Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center is an outreach of The Dominican Sisters of Peace.
