May – August Programs at Shepherd’s Corner

Here are some of our upcoming programs at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center:

Unexpected Joy: Seeing the Familiar with New Eyes
Spring Retreat Day with lunch
Wednesday, May 10th 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
$15 (includes lunch)
Led by Sr. Linda Lee, OP

This day will offer you an opportunity to take time away from your daily routine. If you have been to Shepherd’s Corner many times or this will be the first of many, join us in exploring the many simple ways you will see the familiar with new eyes. We will take time during this weekday retreat to see beauty that has been hidden in plain sight. . This program will include time to explore nature to journal and share with other participants the gifts that keep on giving.
A simple lunch will be served.

Come As You Are: Labyrinth Walk
Wednesday, May 17 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Suggested Donation: $5
Facilitated by John Seryak, Labyrinth Caretaker

Often, those coming to participate in a Labyrinth walk, bring with them situations that fill their lives. With work, friends, family and personal situations we all carry with us much to ponder as we walk the path of the labyrinth.

This evening’s focus will be what each person brings with them. We will be provided the opportunity to contemplate our lives as we walk to our ‘center’ and back out again.
As always, we appreciate all who come to join in with others on this spiritual practice.

Open to visitors on Fridays!

Fridays, we will be open to visitors from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Check our calendar to find out which Fridays we are open (until mid-November)!

Instead of a suggested donation we ask that you please bring a donation of shelf stable food. These items will be given to local food pantries to help lessen food inequity and insecurity in the area.

We invite you to spend time at Shepherd’s Corner Ecology Center. Come walk our meditation trail and the outdoor labyrinths. We do ask that all visitors check in at the office upon their arrival. We will be closed in the event of inclement weather. If you are considering visiting, we ask that you contact us either by calling (614) 866-4302 or by emailing and letting us know.

Seeding the Wetland

Here are some images from March 28th when a couple of folks from Mad Scientists Associates, LLC were able to come out and spread wildflower mix over the ground around the two wetland pools. This wildflower mix will serve as another layer of plants in the prairie area surrounding the wetlands pools. On April 22nd we plant to plant even more native plants and vegetation in our wetland area.
