Meditative Slow Stitching

Slow stitching can be a very meditative activity for cold February days. In this class we will be working on a small hot mat to learn a technique derived from Kawandi quilting. You can bring fabric you want to recycle (small scraps in a variety of colors/patterns) or use the fabric provided in class. Traditionally Kawandi was made from sari material, but we will be using cotton blends. Fabric will be cut into randomly sized rectangles no bigger than 2 1/2 inches. You’ll need a needle, thread and scissors. Everything else will be provided.
You can bring your own fabric that you might like to incorporate as well as a preferred thread if you would like. Shepherd’s Corner will provide needles and will have thread on hand.
